Drumshanbo, County Leitrim

Drumshanbo forms part of the McManus family heartland. It sits at the southern end of Lough Allen, within the civil parish of Kiltubbrid and the Roman Catholic parish of Drumshanbo (Murhan).

In the mid–19th century, McManus families appear in local records as tenant farmers and tradespeople, often linked to townlands around Lough Allen and towards Arigna and Ballyfarnon.
